Baby shower madness

Posted on July 18, 2011

Saturday afternoon I held a baby shower for my sister-in-law who is expecting her baby boy at the end of September. Last week I shared with you guys a couple of DIY projects that I was working on. (Read more about them here, here and here) I made all the decorations myself, which I will not recommend if you have a full time job. Thank goodness I have a husband that helps out with all my crazy projects. Thanks Viv.

But the hard work was so worth it! It was such a special day, filled with so much love, blessings, happiness and dreams for the ‘lill guy!

I made the flag banner with Ben’s name on it. My sister-in-law loved it so much that she is going to hang it over Ben’s crib. She also loved the pom-poms and they now live happily in his nursery. I love making things that can be used again.

I wanted to bring Ben into the whole occasion somehow, making it a little more personal. So, I hung a couple of sonar pictures from the pom-poms I made. Everybody loved looking at the gorgeous little guy.

For those of you who are English, I made little flags with the alphabet on it for the cupcakes.

I bought a meter of towling and cut strips of it, folded it around the little bottles of soda and pinned it in place. They were a massive hit.

These were little boxes with popcorn in. So cute. It still cracks me up when I look at it, even though I made it myself (I didn’t know that I could be so smart :) ) Small things in life right?

Now, all we have to do is wait for the little guy’s arrival.

Have a gorgeous week and happy birthday to Nelson Mandela.
