New project launch Monday, 5 November

Third Time Lucky

Posted on October 5, 2011

We have officially entered the third month of renovating Raybelle. We’ve hoped to be in by the end of September, but yeah, that didn’t happen. We are now in October and we are still in the rental. I am driving around with a boot filled with home stuff just because there is no space in the rental for it (I bought the most beautiful chandelier at Weylandts over the weekend that’s taking up quite some floor space in the flat :) ) and our storage unit is packed to the roof. It is chaotic. Now fingers crossed that October will be the month.

Raybelle is getting quite a face-lift. The inside is almost done, and now the exterior is starting to look just as gorgeous as the interior.

Our master bathroom’s floor is all done and I absolutely love how it turned out. It is exactly how I imagined it. I can’t wait to put the slipper bath and basin in.

Even the toilet looks gorgeous.

Viv and I are planning some chess games to happen on this floor.

The shower room is looking great too. The tiles on the wall is all up…

Now we are just waiting for the rest of the painting to be done and the cornices to be put up so that we can get our quarts carpet installed.

I am really happy about the tiles that we chose for the showerroom. We chose big, matt porcelain tiles and it somehow makes the space feel bigger. I have something great/unusual planned for the little corner where the toilet is. Stay tuned :)

I wanted to do something with the wall in the tv room. Paintíng it another colour was not the option. I was looking for texture, something different. I have considered wallpaper, but I was afraid that it might make the room feel smaller and too busy. So after a lot of thinking, planning and walking around in hardware stores, I found the answer that I was looking for. I chose ceiling tiles. Yes, I now they are suppose to go on the ceiling, duh, but when painted all white, they will give the effect of a wood panneling wall, which is exactly the idea I wanted. What do you think? Look past the ugly grellow colour, imagine it all white.

All you will see is the textured squares. Viv and I love it! Will post an update soon.

Happy Wednesday.

Ek is mal oor die ceiling tiles wat julle wit gaan verf, dit is so slim en gaan stunning wees. Als kom mooi bymekaar. x
