Lights, camera, action
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I am a total sucker for light fixtures. I might even have an addiction. Every single light fixture in our house has been chosen with much care and love. So imagine my excitement to walk into Raybelle yesterday to see my babies hanging. Each light has a story to tell, so prepare yourself.
I saw this picture about 2 years ago and kept the picture. Last year I asked a guy that does wirework next to the road to make me one.
I love it.
I added some of the christals that we used at our wedding, just to add a little bling.
Then we chose small chandeliers as bedside lamps. (imagine a bed between those 2 beauts)
They are still covered in bubble wrap, but it will give you an idea..
Here is a look at the bedroom and bathroom.
As you can see, our bath is still not installed.
I wanted to get something bold and bright for the end of the hallway. We couldn’t have gotten something more bold and bright.
I have been drooling over this chandelier for very long, but it was extremely expensive. A couple of weeks ago we heard that Weylandts are having their yearly sale (I absolutely adore Weylandts’ stuff) so Viv and I set off to Weylandts very early on a Saturday morning. We stood in a que for what seemed like hours and when the gates opened we ran in and grabbed everything that we could. In the corner of my eye I saw this bad boy, I pushed people out of the way to get to it. (sales really awakens the beast in me) There was only 1 on sale and for a quarter of the official price.
The kitchen lights we bought at Ikea in Switzeland last December. We flew them back to SA on our laps. We just couldn’t resist leaving them behind.
I got my sister to buy me the chandelier that’s in the living room while I was on a business trip in Johannesburg. (she lives in Pretoria) I flew back to Cape Town with my CEO. He had to carry the huge box for me. Quite embarrassing, but once again, I couldn’t resist. He still teases me about it.
The rest of the house’s lights still needs to be put up.
As you guys can see, we still have no kitchen. It will only be installed next week- a weekend without a kitchen- this is going to be interesting.
Happy Thursday. We are starting to move tomorrow
so much to be done before then.

Raybelle looks absolutely AWSOME !!! What a huge difference the lightfittings make ! I think the red chandelier in the passage is so pretty – something different – definately makes a statement – no boring passage.
The chandeliers hanging next to the bed as bedlamps is an amazing choice. Just love your “different” style.
The white flooring in the diningroom/kitchen is beautiful – gives a inviting feeling Ido. Both of you have “good” taste. Well done !!
Idonette I cannot believe how amazing your place is looking – absolutely love every bit of it – clever girl!! I have recently bought my first property so you may be inundated with queries from me
