Happy birthday, New Year and Merry Christmas

Posted on January 12, 2012

I have been terrible at blogging the last couple of weeks. So, for everything that I have missed; hope you all had an amazing Christmas, New Year and for all those birthdays that I have missed: hope it was a good one. Viv and I did a disappearing act for a couple of days.

Looking back at 2011, it was quite a year:

I started this blog, traveled to Greece, Italy and Croatia, quite my job and got a new one, travelled quite often for the new job, bought a house, knocked down most of the interior walls of the house, ripped out the kitchen and installed a new one, turned a closet into a shower, made an on-suite bathroom, turned a hallway into a walk-in-closet, turned a boring old wall into my favourite feature in the house, aka ‘the exposed brick wall’, moved the front door, split the entrance hall into 2 and made one part of it the entrance and the other side a home office, celebrated our second wedding anniversary, lived in a 1 bachelors apartment for 2 months, while all our stuff was stored, build a boundary wall (still busy)…

To sum it all up, Viv and I called it quits on 2011 and all the working, blogging, building and renovating that accompanies it.  And we did what one does when you are over tired and in need of some serious TLC- you break away to your parents house.

Their house was clean, everything had its position (something that we are not used to in our house as we are still packing out, yes we are still packing out after living in Raybelle for 2 months), we could pack out our clothes for the first time in 4 months (we are still living out of suitcases, as our shelves in our closet is not in yet) and the most important thing is, we could relax.

NO DIY!!!

Their house was of course beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Spot my sister’s hairless dog in the bottom left corner?

Here’s a close up :)

Our evenings were spend on the deck.

We had picniks on the beach:

Viv and my brother cooked alot:

and we got to spend time with my 92 year old granny:

We had an amazing time, but we were eager to get home. Our bags were not even packed out yet and we started with a couple of DIY projects.

Can’t wait to share it all with you.

I am back at work for 3 days now and my first 6 months are already packed!! This is going to be an exciting year.

I also have a very, very exciting new project that my mom and I are working on. Watch this space!!!! It’s going to be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Hope 2012 is a blessed year for you all.

It was the most amazing holiday ever! :) I called it “Thanksgiving” because we were fortunate to have the whole family together and have spend the most precious time together. We were blessed :)
